Youth Opportunities

Students looking for volunteer opportunities who are interested in teen tobacco use, substance abuse and/or binge drinking are welcome to join our Youth Board! Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month at 5:30 pm. Activities students have participated in include planning and executing community events, providing peer-led education around tobacco and prescription drug misuse at health fairs, school and sports activities, Christmas Parades and more. Students have also provided formal presentations to Carter County’s Health Council, Community Advisory Board, Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club and CCDP’s adult board. They also participate in the TNStrong movement sponsored by Tennessee Department of Health.

Starters Never Start

This campaign encourages students to never start using drugs, tobacco, or alcohol so they can always be at their most optimal performance!
